Finally I was able to track down this beautiful and touching song which was in back of my mind for a couple of months. I heard a little bit of it on NDTV after Mumbai attack but not enough to search it on net. Just now managed to hear it again and as I had anticipated it's one of the best song I have listened to in recent past.

Indian Ocean

The one music band I am in awe of is 'Indian Ocean'. I just can't stop listening to them and talking about them with anyone and everyone whenever I get the slightest of chance. When I was in college (REC Rourkela then, now NIT Rourkela), Varun (my immediate neighbor in hostel) gave me the album 'Kandisha' saying it's something dedicated to Indian rivers.

Some events just stay in your memory forever and I can still visualize that evening as I am writing this. It was that day when I was introduced to the amazing world of Indian Ocean. Words fail me to praise them enough. You won't find such original and free flowing music anywhere.

Anyone who has listened the background score of movie 'Black Friday' will think if these guys don't deserve a Golden Globe or Oscar then who else. Anyway many other things work in the nomination and it's loss of these awards that they are missing the name 'Indian Ocean' from their list. I like them all but here are few of my favorites.

A Different Weekend

What a weekend it was. A path breaking one. After around 5-6 years, finally I found time to upgrade to post paid connection. Poor Hutch tried their hearts out and even died in the process but Vodafone turned out to be fortunate one:) The real credit goes to power cut on Saturday. All my three life lines Music, Television and Internet were down and I had to do something.

Sunday turned out to be day of colors. The painting bug finally became strong enough to make me & Ashish go out and buy brushes/poster colors. As expected Ashish did a good job and I did my first and probably last misadventure(Don't want to drive poor Hussain out of business who is already facing tough time). But I won't hesitate to publish my abstract piece of art for public view and attack. Please don't ask me what it is.

Even before the Pakistani band 'Jal' was launched in India, I accidentally listened to them while surfing randomly about Pak pop music (Check the site pakipop for more). Since then I have made many of my friends listen to them and I was not at all surprised when they were an instant hit in India. This is a soothing number from the album 'Boond'. Enjoy!!
