A 20-20 match going on between Ind Vs NZ and Bibhuti sees the score when Ind was almost through the innings. Hmmm. Weird but true:( Doesn't sound like normal times.
Busy Me..
Kuch aur hi din hain yeh Ajnabi se, thode naraaz se
What a weekend it was. A path breaking one. After around 5-6 years, finally I found time to upgrade to post paid connection. Poor Hutch tried their hearts out and even died in the process but Vodafone turned out to be fortunate one:) The real credit goes to power cut on Saturday. All my three life lines Music, Television and Internet were down and I had to do something.
Sunday turned out to be day of colors. The painting bug finally became strong enough to make me & Ashish go out and buy brushes/poster colors. As expected Ashish did a good job and I did my first and probably last misadventure(Don't want to drive poor Hussain out of business who is already facing tough time). But I won't hesitate to publish my abstract piece of art for public view and attack. Please don't ask me what it is.
Two weeks just flew by and me back to Hyderabad today after vacation. It was nice to stay away from work and internet. Days were immersed in reading books ( As the crow flies, Papillon and Playing for Pizzas), watching cricket and sleeping. Evenings were mostly spent in playing cards with all the local controversial news(Special thanks to Chinu and Ritesh for their certification matrix of the Venusians) along with garam samosa and aloo chup. A tea session at by-pass mostly featuring news related to truck owners and some nonsense to cater to others like me was rounding up the day. And not to forget everybody's eternal favorite question. I bet you know what I mean.
Nothing much has changed since I started to stay out of Sundargarh i.e. from 1998. And I don't want anything to be changed, I like it this way..
"Baatein bhool jaati hain, yaadein yaad aati hain". It's so justified that I have some nice memory attached to this song.
The stage was set; First ever interview in life, HR round and the usual question about interests. And the usual answer that I like listening to music. The next question came; so what's the last album you have listened to? I promptly replied 'Yaadein'. And the next logical question was; What's your favorite number in that album? When I replied 'Nagme hain shikwe hain', I sensed a node of approval from him as if he also liked the track.
The song became immortal for me at that moment only irrespective of whatever the result would have been. Thankfully, that is still my only interview till date and I am not jobless.
Nagme hain, shikwe hain Kisse hain, baatein hain Baatein bhool jaati hain Yaadein yaad aati hain Yeh yaadein kisi dil-o-jaanam ke Chale jaane ke baad aati hain
Yaadein, yaadein, yaadein
Yeh jeevan dil jaani, dariya ka hai paani Paani to beh jaaye, baaqi kya reh jaaye Yaadein, yaadein, yaadein Nagme hain, shikwe hain Kisse hain, baatein hain Baatein bhool jaati hain Yaadein yaad aati hain Yeh yaadein kisi dil-o-jaanam ke Chael jaane ke baad aati hain
Yaadein, yaadein, yaadein
Duniya mein hum saare Yaadon ke hai maare Kuch kushiyaan, thode gham Yeh humse, inse hum Yaadein, o meethi meethi yaadein Khatti meethi yaadein Nagme hain, shikwe hain Kisse hain, baatein hain Baatein bhool jaati hain Yaadein yaad aati hain Yeh yaadein kisi dil-o-jaanam ke Chael jaane ke baad aati hain
Yaadein, yaadein, yaadein

10 years is a long time. And I never had to take any tough decision during this period. I am the kind of person who flows with time. Not really proud of this fact and probably I have paid for that in few things. Anyway that's me. The following dialogue from movie 'Dus Kahaniyaan' defines me quite correctly.
"Main khud koi faisla nahin karta, har lamha jo mere liye faisla leke ata hai main usika sath ho jata hun."
Ragging period is something you hate when you face the music and love for rest of your life. When I remember those days I can't help but smile. Going to class in a long queue(Everyday it was tough to find a leader of the queue), formal dress and shoes, eyes on third button(You look up and a slap might land from somewhere on your face), clean shave and many more things.
So why am I talking about taking decision and ragging period? Well there is a small connect. After ragging period which was around 10 years back, I have gone clean shave again last Sunday, 27th July. You might be thinking what's the big deal? No big deal for many but for a guy like me which I described earlier, it's probably a significant change. I had a nice laugh looking at the mirror and hopefully it will give a smile to friends who are used to my earlier look:)
The phase between going to sleep and actually sleeping is very dangerous. If you are at peace with yourself and happy then that's the best time to relive the beautiful moments. And if you are troubled for some reason then that's the worst possible period. It won't let you sleep.
In one of the nights, I was not able to sleep and many things starting from childhood days to school days to college days were going in my mind. I thought of writing down some less known facts about me. Unfortunately nothing explosive but few must be new to my friends also.
1. I am very particular about spelling.
2. I don't like when people write sentence in uppercase.
3. The lowest mark I have ever scored in any exam is 3 out of 60(Mid-term for Microprocessor). When the professor decides to strike, he strikes hard. Fortunately I had most of the class in company in single digit. I did score 55 out of 80 in the main semester.
4. I have scored 100 only once in life. Maths(Class 7 board exam).
5. In the morning of exam day, I used to get up very early in morning(3 or 4 AM) and scan the whole syllabus once. Else it was giving me feeling that I have left something.
6. I never used to discuss the answers once out of the exam hall.
7. The only movie I have seen twice in theatre is 'Ajay'. It was not that the movie was so good but just situation.
8. I have the same ringtone since I started using cell around 5 years back.
