Everybody is debating the exclusion of Sourav Ganguly from ODI cricket team.Kolkatans are making hue and cry as if this is the first time someone is dropped from the team.The feeling of regionalism is overpowering nationalism.This reaction from Kolkatans is making two groups 'Bengalis' and 'Antibengalis' which is not good.I was wondering earlier how come the left is ruling the bengal for last 25 years.I have no doubt now.The height is that some people infact were happy when India lost to SA in the first match because Sourav is not there in team.Huh!!Even Sourav wouldn't have been happy with the defeat.But some people,I don't say all the bengalis, are unncessarily making an issue.I think most of the people who are protesting only want to be on media.I bet if no news channel and daily gives any coverage to these sort of people,there won't be any further protest.

Sourav has been a consistent performer for India for years and we should respect him for that.But why don't people understand that he hasn't been in best of form in recent times and was dropped correctly.He himself has dropped Kumble many times in favour of Bhajji.Does that mean he has something against Kumble?I really doubt if performance is the only criteria by which he has been selected in test team.Unfortunately public pressure and Mr Dalmiya's backing must have played a big role.Anyway lets see how he performs in test provided he gets a place in playing 11.
