Kahan Se Aye Badra

Kahan se aye badara
Ghulata jaye kajara
Kahan se aye badara
Ghulata jaye kajara

Palakon ke satarange deepak
Ban baithe aansu ki jhalar
Moti kaa anamolak heera
Mitti mein jaa Phisala
Kahan se ayee badara

Neend piya ke sang sidhari
Sapanon ki sukhi phulawari
Amrit hothon tak aate hi
Jaise vish mein badala
Kahan se aye badara

Utare megh yaa phir chhaye
Nirday jhonke agana badhaye
Barase hain ab tose sawan
Roe man hai pagala
Kahan se aye badara

I'm hearing the song for the first time and absolutely love it. Do you by any chance know what it means?
What does 'Kaha se aaye badra" mean?
The actress is so beautiful! What a difference in actors back then and actors these days.

It's difficult to translate lyrics or poems to a different language preserving the soul. Let me just try for first two lines.

From where did the rain come?
The eyeliner is being dissolved

Badara is metaphor for tears here..

Lovely song!
Could you just check the first line of the last paragraph?
I think "Utare megh yaa phir chhaye"
should read "Utare megh yaa parchaayi".

Thanks! :)
